It’s a Fool Moon Rising

FoolMoon 2021 will take place on the ground and virtually in Ann Arbor beginning in March and leading up to the gig finale on April 9. Activities include ypsiGLOW in town and virtually; 76 community partners; 84 local artists; 02 DJs; one GLOW TV; and 600 GLOW kits for Ypsi kids.

An annual rite of spring around April Fool’s Day, FestiFools invites people of all ages for a one-hour street theater "parade" on Ann Arbor’s Main Street on a Sunday afternoon. The foolishly fun and zany parade features “huge-mongous” papier maché puppets, colorful street performers, community groups and families with their magical creations.

FestiFools was founded in 2007 by Mark Tucker, self-proclaimed fool and art director at University of Michigan Lloyd Scholars for Writing and the Arts program. Intrigued by puppetry in theatrical arts, an opportunity arose to create larger-than-life puppets for a community theater performance. That inspired the creation of 50 foolish puppets come to life on the street.
