Unleashing Feminine Power

The Women’s March on Washington, D.C., in January, has prompted an explosion in activities by women’s organizations working to empower women to be the best they can be and take control of their future. This month we highlight the innate skills and learned strengths of women everywhere as they work to succeed in life and improve the world for every living being as they go.

Millions of women today are doing and giving their all. It’s tough to wrap our head around how so many of today’s moms can juggle a household, work full- or part-time and manage the demands of everyday living and relationships.

Linda Sechrist speaks to the big picture growing from today’s feminine empowerment with “Heart-Based Leadership: Women Mobilize to Heal the World.” Women active in a variety of professional fields illustrate through their own lives how feminine energies can change, and are changing, the world through uplifted vision and selfless love.

Womanhood is large enough both to give birth to children and be a role model of innovation for generations of children. Deborah Shouse supports the blessings of “Natural Motherhood: Creating the Best Start for New Life” in showing expectant mothers how to prepare for the promise of new beginnings in gentle ways that nourish and support body, mind and spirit.

I felt the best start I could give my children was to breastfeed; four children each born 20 to 22 months apart meant I was continuously breastfeeding for 56 months. Although family and friends lovingly dubbed me Elsie the Cow, it was the most physically rewarding and emotionally precious act I experienced as a new mom. With their tiny hand wrapped around my pinky, we would daily look deeply into each other’s eyes. The felt closeness of such a pure connection is unmatched.

Be sure to check out this month’s calendar to revel in lovely preludes to an exciting summer. Please also partake of the products and services or our blessed sponsors and advertisers and let them know it’s this magazine that brings you to their doors. It’s encouraging for them to see how we all work together, part of a rewarding natural cycle of learning, caring and growth.

Happy Mother’s Day to all who mother our world,
