What We Can Do About Honeybee Health

Local beekeeper and educator Jamie Berlin will explain how honeybee health decline affects humans, and what is at stake for impacts on global food production, healthy ecosystems and the economy, from 3 to 5 p.m., March 18, at the Malletts Creek Branch District Library.

Honeybees play a foundational role in our food value chain. Attendees will learn why we need to save bees, about the factors that affect bee health and how local actions in Ypsilanti, Michigan’s first Bee City are contributing to halting the decline in the global bee population.

The event is presented by the Culinary Historians of Ann Arbor, an organization of scholars, cooks, food writers, nutritionists, collectors, students and others interested in the study of culinary history and gastronomy.

Admission is free. Location: 3090 E. Eisenhower Pkwy., Ann Arbor.
