New Techniques to Help Back Pain and Scoliosis

Jan Sevde, an Anat Baniel Method (ABM) NeuroMovement practitioner, will teach two six-week courses on Mondays from April 9 through May 14  at the Ann Arbor Neuro-Wellness Center. Wear comfortable or yoga clothing. Healthy Backs will run from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. This class will focus on increasing mobility and range of motion in the pelvis, back, shoulders and neck, and letting go of habitual contractions that can cause pain.

Scoliosis Healthy Backs runs from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The movement lessons will increase the mobility of the spine and ribs in all different directions and greatly increase lung/breathing capacity, making the effects of scoliosis less noticeable.

Sevde will also be offering a donation-based clinic for children with special needs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., April 7 and 8. She says, “Movement is used to help the child’s brain perceive differences. When their brain perceives differences, that’s when the learning starts.”

Cost is $75 for each course or $15 drop-in for one class. Location: 405 Little Lake Dr., Ste. A-3, Ann Arbor. For more information, call 734-649-8234, email [email protected] or visit A2BodyAndMind.com.
