Summer Learning Fun at Robin Hills Farm

Robin Hills Farm is offering a plethora of education, fun classes and workshops this summer. Permaculture: Gardening the Future, on May 9, teaches the basics of permaculture principles, and how to apply them to caring for the Earth, community, homes and self, through a hands-on workshop. Invasives Management Volunteer Day on May 13 is a morning of invasive plant remediation. DIY Dragon Boats offers multiple sessions in May and June for building a dragonboat and leaving with a seaworthy vessel and race your boat in the second annual Dragon Boat Festival in August. Permaculture Gardens: Growing Unusual Plants, on May 20, focuses on observing the natural world and applying that to personal and social spaces. At Essential Oils 101 on May 23, local specialists from a variety of fields will present students with the many uses of, and techniques surrounding, essential oils, which are natural distilled extracts that capture the active compounds of fragrant plants.
