The University of Michigan Secret Lab Living Building Challenge (LBC) team will conduct a workshop, Sustainable Housing DIY, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., February 6, at the downtown library. The LBC provides retrofit designs for local buildings to help them become self-sustaining structures.

This workshop/lecture will introduce LBC work and current sustainable housing solutions. Participants will get to create their own DIY sustainable retrofit, and will leave with information about further solutions that they can use to retrofit their own home.

The LBC team is working with a local family to retrofit their historic, net-zero energy house to a net-positive water house and provide a platform for community collaboration and education in the process.
