Tour the Greenbelt and learn About Agriculture

The annual Greenbelt Bus Tour will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., June 2, for a tour of farm and open space properties that have been protected from an air-conditioned, luxury motor coach. Light refreshments will be available.

Participants will learn about local agriculture and food production; see how the Greenbelt program helps protect and preserve farms; speak with local farmers and take a short nature hike.  They will also be able to discuss local and regional partnership opportunities and learn how Farm Bill funding programs from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service are advancing these efforts and partnerships.

The city has worked with the nonprofit Conservation Fund, since 2004 to implement the Greenbelt program.
