The CutTime Simfonica will perform Model-T
Magic from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., November 13, at the Henry Ford Estate. The
full CutTime Simfonica, compring a string sextet and light drums, will feature
many of founder Rick Robinson’s most dramatic and cathartic compositions and
arrangements for the 50th anniversary of the Fair Lane Music Guild series. The
program also includes Ruslan and Ludmilla’s Overture to Bach, Ellington,
Beethoven, Still, Leroy Anderson and Chabrier.
Robinson is a former Detroit Symphony
Orchestra bassist-turned-composer on a mission to broaden audiences for
classical and symphonic music with casual, lively, eclectic, soulful,
demonstrative and informative performances in a style he calls “new classical.”
