VegHead Celebrates One Year

Veg Head, celebrating one year in business, is a plant-based restaurant located in downtown Lansing. Specialties include vegan tacos with a spicy red pepper sauce, Nashville tofu and jalapeno popper macaroni and cheese. Former Michigan State University Executive Chef Kari Magee became a vegan in 2019. She creates flavorful dishes and says, “We are proud to say that everything on Veg Head’s menu is free from animal products and is vegan-friendly. The trick to vegan cooking has always been to highlight vegetables and fruits in dishes that taste wonderful without utilizing meat.”

Magee owns Veg Head with Shawn Elliott, a partner in the Midtown Brewing Company and real estate developer. In the past year, they have partnered with local markets including Sparrow and Capital City Market Meijer for options in the market’s grab-and-go line.
