Restorative Yoga Experience Supports Calm and Clarity

The Healing Power of Rest: Yoga Nidra for Mindful Wellbeing, presented by Detroit Yoga Lab, will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m., May 8, in Detroit. The event reflects the studio’s broader focus on mindful movement, rest and community-based well-being through practices that support calm, clarity and nervous system balance. 

Detroit Yoga Lab is a space for real-life yoga rooted in philosophy, somatics, breathwork, Pilates and movement practices shaped by nervous system support rather than performance. The studio’s community includes seekers, skeptics, survivors, artists and feelers, and many teachers bring trauma-sensitive training while all use choice-based, invitational cueing. Rebecca Murawski, the studio’s lead teacher, has guided students in yoga for more than 13 years and centers warmth, belonging, breath awareness and curiosity in her classes. 

That approach carries into The Healing Power of Rest, a guided Yoga Nidra experience led by Murawski. The session begins with breathwork and light movement to release tension, then settles into guided meditation with calming imagery and mindful awareness. “The practice supports emotional balance, inner peace and a softer, steadier state of awareness,” Murawski assures.
