Scenic Trail Run Explores Shorelines Forests and Remote Terrain

The Two Hearted Trail Run will once again attract endurance athletes seeking a challenging and scenic wilderness racing experience in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Managed by Aravaipa Running, the annual event on June 20 features 50K, marathon and half-marathon distances that guide participants through rugged terrain, old-growth forests, and remote shoreline landscapes inspired by the region’s natural beauty and literary history.

Set near Paradise, Michigan, the race, which will start with the 50K at 7 a.m., combines approximately 80 percent single-track trail with dirt forest roads and two-track sections winding along Lake Superior, Culhane Lake and Clark Lake. Participants experience dramatic scenery that includes high bluffs, dense forest trails and secluded shoreline paths before finishing near Upper Tahquamenon Falls.

The 50K and marathon courses are designed for experienced endurance runners and include demanding terrain that tests stamina and technical trail-running skills. Organizers require all 50K participants to have previously completed a marathon or ultramarathon before registration. The half marathon offers a shorter but still challenging route through old-growth white pine forests and elevated ridges overlooking Clark Lake.

The event emphasizes outdoor adventure, endurance and connection with nature while bringing runners together to experience one of Michigan’s most remote and scenic trail-running destinations. Race organizers continue to provide detailed runner logistics and support services to ensure a safe and memorable event for participants traveling from throughout the region and beyond.

Location: Tahquamenon Upper Falls, Paradise. For more information or to pre-register, call 602-900-2900 or visit AravaipaRunning.com.
