Outdoor Adventures Connect Residents with Lansing Waterways

Kayak, canoe and paddleboard adventures give residents and visitors a unique way to experience Lansing’s Grand River and Red Cedar River. Since opening in 2014, River Town Adventures has provided outdoor recreation opportunities that help participants connect with local waterways while exploring the natural beauty of Michigan’s capital region.

The organization offers a variety of trips that appeal to participants seeking active recreation, relaxation or opportunities to observe wildlife and nature from a unique perspective. Routes extend along Michigan’s longest river, the Grand River, as well as the scenic Red Cedar River, giving paddlers access to diverse landscapes throughout the Lansing area.

River Town Adventures serves individuals, families and groups looking to explore waterways that flow through communities including Dimondale, Grand Ledge, Williamston, Okemos and Lansing. New adventures continue to be added, expanding opportunities for participants to experience additional stretches of river and natural areas throughout the region.

Beyond recreation, the company remains committed to environmental stewardship. River Town Adventures regularly participates in and organizes river clean-up events aimed at improving the health of local waterways and parks. Through partnerships with community organizations and volunteers, these efforts help preserve the Grand River and Red Cedar River for future generations.

By combining outdoor adventure, environmental awareness and community engagement, River Town Adventures encourages more people to experience Lansing’s rivers and trail systems while fostering a deeper appreciation for the region’s natural resources.
