Training for Healthcare Professionals

Washtenaw Community College is offering an online series of classes, Addressing Unintended Bias in the Classroom, Exploring the Potential of Your Unconscious Bias, to understand the origins of bias and the impact on perceptions and interactions, from  6 to 8 p.m. from August 4 through 18. Attendees will build skills to manage and recognize bias in themselves and others while enhancing awareness and sensitivity.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer has directed the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs to develop rules to require implicit bias training as part of the skills necessary for licensing, registration and renewal of licenses for healthcare professionals.
