Green Mitt Car Wash is Coming

Designed by Nick Spallone, of Chicago-based Car Wash Pro Designers, construction is almost complete on the high-end, eco-friendly car wash, Green Mitt, which takes the place of the former Hooters restaurant at 1840 U.S. 31, in East Bay Township. The car wash will have space for food trucks and outdoor dining, with a footprint about 25 percent that of a typical car wash, using a belt drive system rather than a track. The company has designed hundreds of car washes nationwide built to resemble a bank, allowing them to be placed in areas that wouldn’t normally permit a car wash.

A typical car wash uses 70 to 80 gallons of water per wash, but Green Mitt would use 15 gallons. With an exterior of limestone and brick, 150 feet long and 35 feet wide, It will use LED lighting and biodegradable, plant-based cleaning products.
