Walk & Talk Coaching with Nia Spongberg

Nia Spongberg

Nia Spongberg, a life coach in Ann Arbor with a niche in productivity, helps adventurous people blaze new trails in their time, tasks and transitions. She recently introduced “Walk & Talk” coaching sessions, so that instead of sitting in her office clients now have the option to move their coaching conversations outdoors at one of eight local natural areas.

She says, “There are lots of benefits to walking while coaching. Moving our bodies increases circulation, sends more oxygen to our brains and triggers the release of endorphins (happy hormones) that reduce anxiety and improve mood. Walking thus supports our brains in being more alert and clear, making more connections and experiencing more insights. The fields and forests where we walk have the added effect of inviting us to slow down and be more present with ourselves.”

She notes that because walking is less formal than sitting face-to-face it tends to support more natural silences and flow in the conversation, and is a more comfortable format for many people.

Nia also coaches by phone and video. For a free consultation and more information, call 734-531-9024, email [email protected] or visit NiaSpongberg.com.
