RoosRoast Headquarters is Solar Powered

RoosRoast offers a selection of coffees and teas that cater to all tastes and preferences. In the summer of 2020, they officially began running on solar, covering every inch of the Rosewood headquarters building with solar panels.

Co-owners John Roos and Katherine Weider-Roos say, “Wow, this is a difficult time for the planet and for businesses! RoosRoast is committed to being part of the change that needs to happen. In 2015, we were the first roaster in Michigan to invest in the spectacular Loring Smart Roaster that uses 80 percent less energy than an equivalent roaster of its kind.”

They rely on trusted partners to find ethically sourced coffee from farms that serve their communities. Most are Fair Trade Organic. They also use compostable cups and bags, and have been working to make RoosRoast a sustainable job for the staff with health care, 401K and bonuses since 2015.
