Ann Arbor Smiles Pediatric Now Open

Ann Arbor Smiles Pediatric is excited to announce the opening of its eastside location in addition to its westside location. The Golfside Road. office has been specifically designed for kids, and includes televisions in the operatories and a chalkboard in the waiting area. Weighted blankets and headphones are also available and parents are allowed to come back into the operatory with their children if desired.

Consequences of children being at home more during the pandemic include increased snacking and fewer dental appointments, which has resulted in spikes in tooth decay nationwide. Many practices have a backlog of patients as a result and cannot make appointments for months. This new branch is ready to accept patients immediately. When dental care is routine, children are more excited to come and less likely to need invasive procedures.

Dr. Heather Hoffman is an American Board of Pediatric Dentistry diplomate, received her pediatric specialty residency training at NYU in 2016 and DDS degree from NYU College of Dentistry in 2014.
