Folk Fosters Sustainability

Folk, a curated marketplace and cafe, carries selected products from around the world; all labeled with the story of their origin, whether imported, Michigan-made, supporting minority-owned business or made in-house. From exotic oils and gourmet sauces to bio wine and specialty snacks, the marketplace is a homey and eclectic backdrop to the café. Many items are sourced locally and change with the seasons.

The cafe offers takeout and grab-and-go menus, including coffee, juices, cannabidiol (CBD) beverages, freshly baked pastries, deli-style sandwiches, salads, dips and soups, including many whole-food, plant-based items. All dishes are customizable and made to order.

Owner and general manager Rohani Foulkes says, “We are a team that aligns ourselves with suppliers, neighbors, small businesses, writers and advocates that uphold shared values and responsibility in each other’s success; reducing our impact on the environment; and developing a stronger, more equitable food system for all.”
