Learn Tai Chi Easy via Zoom

Certified tai chi and qigong teacher Erin Reas is offering a Tai Chi Easy/Qigong class and individual instruction Thursdays at 10 a.m. through July 29 via Zoom to enhance health, balance and inner peace. Tai Chi Easy is a combination of ancient Chinese health enhancement practices (gentle movement, breathing exercises and self-applied massage) plus five movements from traditional tai chi. All fitness levels are welcome and practice can be done standing or sitting in a chair.

Tai chi is a graceful, flowing exercise that consists of a series of standing postures connected through stepping movements. The number of postures varies from 108 in traditional long forms to shorter forms with 20 to 40 movements. Tai chi is sometimes called “meditation in motion,” due to the relaxation and calm people can experience while practicing it. Harvard Women’s Health Watch wrote, “It might as well be called ‘medication in motion’, due to the numerous health benefits tai chi can provide when done on a regular basis.”
