Nature, Nurture, Narratives at Detroit Abloom
Detroit Abloom, an organic cut flower farm, Native Plant Nursery and Outdoor Wellness Center in the Jefferson Chalmers neighborhood, will host Nature, Nurture, Narratives, an eight-week, mindfulness-based, art therapy workshop on Thursdays from 9:30 to 11 a.m., August 5 through September 23, facilitated by Licensed Counselor and Art Therapist Nina Goebel.
After feeling stressed and worn-out from a year of pandemic, participants will experience the healing power of expressing themselves through art; discover new connections; and explore how creative expressions can help gain a new perspective on life. No art skills are required. The workshop takes place outside under a gazebo surrounded by nature, and is for everyone that wants to lower their stress level and try something new. Social distancing rules will be followed.
Detroit Abloom will be adding more classes to support their Holistic Wellness Center without Walls initiative. This includes are building an outdoor bathroom and a patio pergola area behind the pavilion to add additional seating.
Cost is $95. Location: 248 Manistique, Detroit. Register and pay at DetroitAbloom.com/workshops. For more info, call 313-587-2446.
