The Traffic Jam and Snug Grows Herbs on the Roof

The Traffic Jam and Snug has been known for their in-house bakery, microbrewery, dairy, intimate multi-level dining rooms and eclectic menu since 1965. They only use the best, freshest ingredients in their cheese and ice cream, bread and desserts, and make everything in-house. Since 1992, the Traffic Jam has been brewing an ever-changing selection of handcrafted beers such as the Grand Theft Pilsner and the Java Porter. Patrons can try them all with eight-ounce sampler glasses.

In 2010, they established an urban garden on the rooftop. Even in the middle of winter, the rooftop greenhouse produces herbs that are dried and preserved to serve fresh hot tea. The original focus of salad greens, corn, edible flowers and mushrooms has shifted to accommodate the increasing demand for tea, and they now offer 10 unique blends, including some which are completely herbal and others mixed with green and black teas. Throughout the year, they feature many rooftop-inspired artisan goods and are producing their first lemons, limes and goji berries.
