Butcher Shop and Restaurant in One
Marrow Detroit is the city’s first neighborhood butcher shop and restaurant hybrid, promoting a healthy, local and sustainable food system. Founder Ping Ho is also the owner of downtown wine bar The Royce, a co-founder in Mink and founder of the soon-to-launch Marrow Detroit Provisions at Eastern Market (in 2023).
They are currently offering dinner service inside, at the bar and on the heated patio, which is fully enclosed and heated. When it is cold outside, it will be colder on the patio. although there are heaters for every table and an overhead heater to keep things toasty. Walk-ins will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis for the chef’s tasting menu or a la carte selections. Most tables are for reservations only.
Ho says, “Full utilization is our muse. Through each plate, at your table or ours, we strive to honor local farms by using everything they have to offer—fruit to root and tip to tail. Urban agriculture in Detroit is in full force. We are able to source the majority of our spring and summer produce from farms within five miles of our doorstep.”
