Let the Children Sing

The Detroit Children’s Choir (DCC), “Singing for a better Detroit since 2006,” will perform their Spring Concert 2022 live at 7 p.m., May 11, at the Basilica of Ste. Anne de Detroit. This first live concert since the start of the pandemic features 200 youth from six Detroit public schools and the Saturday Civic Choir representing children from the tri-county area.

Professional artists will join the DCC on stage, including award-winning vocalist Gwen Foxx, solo artist and support vocalist Beth Griffith-Manley (currently on tour with KEM and Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds) and Detroit rapper and lyricist Curtis Bates. Accompanied by a live band, the children will unite their voices of hope and resilience as they create beautiful music in a wide range of genres.

Tours of the historic church will be offered before the concert, starting at 5:30 p.m. The DCC provides experiences through choral music education that will enrich the lives of Metro Detroit’s youth and communities, ultimately shaping confident, focused and expressive leaders.

Admission is free and donations are welcome. Location: 1000 Saint Anne St., Detroit. For reservations, register at Tinyurl.com/DCC-Spring-Concert. For more information, call 313-444-7821 or visit DetroitChildrensChoir.org.
