Two Decades of CancerActivism

Making Strides of Ann Arbor is celebrating 20 years of fundraising for the American Cancer Society (ACS) with a goal of $100,000 for their annual walk on October 22 at Washtenaw Community College. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. Thanks to the support of their team leaders, participants, staff and volunteers, they have helped the ACS fund life-saving breast cancer research, crucial patient services and education and prevention initiatives that have helped millions of people.

Individuals can also sign up with Making Strides to raise funds digitally and easily, then participate in the walk. It is the only organization that integrates advocacy, discovery and patient support to measurably improve the lives of cancer patients and their families.

Corporate sponsors ensure they can reunite, celebrate and honor local survivors and thrivers during breast cancer awareness month. Breast cancer survivors can provide help and hope to people facing breast cancer through the ACS Reach To Recovery support program. Volunteers help out virtually throughout the year.
