Zingerman’s Delicatessen is known for their sandwiches, and they are offering a virtual fromage fiesta called Cheese 101 for cheese lovers and cheese learners from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., October 6. Participants will join expert cheese mongers and be guided through the seven major styles of cheese: fresh, soft-ripened, pressed curd, cooked curd, milled curd, gouda and blue. They will enjoy samples, learn the basics of how these cheeses are made, note their flavor profiles and get useful tips for pairing them to make a fabulous cheese board.

            A $15 event ticket includes a Zoom meeting link; a wealth of information and an evening of great conversation with the cheese mongers; and a 20 percent off coupon to use at the online shop after the tasting. A $45 event ticket includes all the above plus a tasting kit with eight samples of cheese, matzo chips and honey (additional kits can be added for $30). The tasting kit can be picked up at the deli (free); delivered in Ann Arbor ($11) or shipped ($25, purchase by October 2.)
