Moroccan Pre-Valentine's Day Pop-Up Dinner

Taste of Marrakech is serving a unique Moroccan dinner from 6:30 to 9 p.m., February 6. The menu includes Harira soup served with dates and chebakia (pastry made of strips of dough rolled to resemble a rose, deep-fried until golden, then coated with a syrup made of honey and orange blossom water and sprinkled with sesame); chicken pastilla, a crispy, savory and sweet baked pie stuffed with chicken and almonds, sprinkled with powdered sugar, cinnamon and a drizzle of honey; an assortment of eggplants Zaalook (fire-roasted eggplants with roasted peppers, tomatoes, garlic, parsley, cilantro, olive oil and spices) and carrots salad with olives and preserved lemons served with pitta bread; choice of chicken tagine with apricots, figs and pineapples or braised lamb with herbs, gravy and mashed potatoes; and Moroccan mint tea served with Basbousa dessert.
