Detroit Vegan Chef Challenge

Detroit Vegan Chef Challenge, sponsored by Vegan Outreach, features a month of brand-new vegan options from March 1 to 31 all over Detroit. Local chefs will be competing with creative and delicious plant-based meals as restaurants feature special vegan menu items so diners can enjoy meals, vote, comment and post photos of the vegan meals they have ordered.

Nonprofit Vegan Outreach, founded in 1993, works to end violence toward animals and seeks a future when sentient animals are no longer exploited as commodities. They are best known for a massive outreach program of leafleting on college campuses. Studies have found that a vegan diet lowers the risk of heart disease and premature death, helps manage Type 2 diabetes and reduces the risk of cancer.
