Volunteer Day at Peace Ranch

Nonprofit Peace Ranch will hold a Spring Farm Day volunteer event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., May 13. Children are welcome and lunch is provided. The farm needs help cleaning up from the winter, such as getting the chicken and mini-pens ready for summer and other projects around the property.

Peace Ranch offers Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association Model mental health services that incorporate horses for emotional growth and learning with a team approach to coping with issues with a licensed therapist, an equine specialist working with the clients and horses to address treatment goals. Clients learn about themselves and others by participating in activities with the horses, and then processing (or discussing) feelings, behaviors and patterns.

Peace Ranch was founded by Paul and Jackie Kaschel, professional, equine-assisted counseling and education providers. The ranch serves hundreds of people every year with classes and events such as herd meditation, farm days, natural horsemanship classes and the Peace Ranch 5K/10K Wilderness Run.

Location: 2570 Hoosier Valley Rd., Traverse City. RSVP to [email protected] with the number of volunteers. For more information, call 231-499-4736 or visit PeaceRanchTC.com.
