Organic Tours at Featherstone Garden

On a tour of Featherstone Garden, company outings, school groups and community organizations can learn about organic gardening basics, companion planting, natural pest control, featured seasonal crops, bee hives and meet the farm cats, Chili and Bean. The weekly Featherstone farm stand is stocked with freshly harvested produce, small-batch preserves and more.

Co-owner and organic grower Annie Hakim, co-owner, site manager Aaron Smith and their team strive to educate the community about the health and wellness benefits of a plant-centered diet.

As a non-certified organic operation, the garden intercrops all-natural greens, veggies, herbs and flowers that complement each other as companion plants, support native pollinators and contribute to a healthy urban ecosystem. They partner with Detroit-area restaurants and other establishments by sourcing naturally grown produce, floral arrangements and edible flowers.

Location: 4178 Lakepointe St., Detroit. For more information, email [email protected] or visit FeatherstoneGarden.com.
