Plant-Based Eating Challenge

Nonprofit VegMichigan and the Ann Arbor Office of Sustainability and Innovations have created a 30-day pledge, the A2ZERO Plant-Based Challenge, and associated week-long Plant-Based Eating Challenge, supported in part by A2ZERO ambassadors, from September 11 (at Cobblestone Farm) through 17.

The kickoff event will include words from A2ZERO Ambassadors, the Office of Sustainability and Innovations, VegMichigan and a guest speaker about the benefits of plant-forward diets and about the exciting events coming up during the week. There will also be plant-based brunch items from local restaurants, games, activities and music.

By pledging to reduce consumption of animal-based food products for the week, participants will get daily emails with tips, tricks and recipes. They can even join an in-person kickoff event, a plant-based pizza party and a series of virtual webinars and cooking demonstrations. They can also sign up for a reusable grocery bag full of plant-based foods to use in their own kitchen and enter a drawing for local and delicious prizes.

Kickoff location: 2781 Packard St., Ann Arbor. Sign up at A2Gov.org/plantchallenge. For information, visit VegMichigan.org.
