KUDOS - Moomers

Moomers Homemade Ice Cream has been named as one of the 40 best creameries in the country by media website Thrillist. Opened in 1998 by John Plummer, Moomers sits next to an 80-acre dairy farm. This year is their 25th anniversary, and Plummer is holding a big celebration on the 25th of every month.

The ice cream shop, located five miles from downtown Traverse City, offers more than 160 handmade ice creams, including the Wholey Cow, which features 10 scoops and every topping. The creamery also features ice cream wedding cakes, milkshakes, old-fashioned root beer floats and sundaes.

The family's hope was to provide a unique premium product in a country atmosphere, share the world of agriculture with others, employ local young adults and provide a family-oriented place to enjoy with relatives and friends.

Location: 7263 N. Long Lake Rd. Traverse City. For more information, call 231-941-4122 or visit Moomers.com.
