A Lifeline for Seniors

At the Dexter Senior Center (DSC), Matter of Balance will begin on June 22. Seniors over 55 can benefit from meeting people with similar interests and learn new skills. The Meals on Wheels Program serves seniors that are homebound with nutritious meals and can receive emergency meals in the event of loss of power. They also provide frozen meals for the weekend.

In 2022, DSC volunteer drivers carried more than 12,000 meals to homebound seniors in the Greater Dexter Area. The benefit of joining DSC is the opportunity to be supported by a thriving community that is welcoming, inclusive and evolving.

Executive Director Gordon L. Smith III, MSF, explains that over the last five months, the DSC has undergone a major transformation and increased its membership by over 120 percent to more than 350.
